Grigor Dimittrov lost to Donald Young in Honolulu
Best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov was defeated by the former Junior #1 Donald Young /USA/ in the second round of the Honolulu Challenger. Young won both sets with score 4-6, 6-7.
In the first round Grigor surprised everyone by defeating #6 of the main draw Michael Yani /USA/ 6-2 7-6(3). This is the third time Grigor defeates Yani in the last four months.
With his win in the first round Dimitrov gained 10 ATP rank points /he is now # 268/ and 860 USD of the prize money.
Grigors next tournament will be the ATP Challenger in Dallas, Texas, USA, which starts next week. He will most probably start directly in the main draw.

Grigor Dimitrov entered the Main Draw in Honolulu
After a tough win in the second round against Joel Lindner /Australia/ 7-5 3-6 7-5, Grigor had to play Brian Battistone /USA/ in the third round of the Qualies at the Honolulu Challenger. Dimitrov had no problem defeating the 30-year-old Battistone in two sets: 6-1 6-2. Bulgarias first racket gained 3 ATP ranking points for his passing to the Main Draw.
Dimitrovs first match in the main draw will be on Wednesday, 27 January 2010. He will play against Michael Yani /USA/, Seed 6 and ATP rank 159. Dimitrov has faced Yani twice in his career and he has defeated the American both times – once at the Charlottesville Challenger last year and again this year in Noumea, New Caledonia.
